🤖Add the bot to your server

We'll show you how to add our discord bot to your server

Once your server is setup how you want, you can visit fren.tools where you will see the discord bot tool available. You will need to connect your wallet in order to verify your key ownership. Remember: We will never request a transaction and costs no gas to sign a message.

  • Connect wallet

  • Sign in using your wallet

  • Once signed, you will be able to click on the Add to Discord button. If you are sure you hold the fren.tools key but still don't see the button, try refreshing the page.

  • This will send you to a discord page where you will need to select which server you want to add the bot to and then confirm permissions

  • Once successfully confirmed you should be back at the fren.tools home page

Setup Command

With the bot added to your server, you will need to run the /setup command in the landing channel of your choice.

  • In your channel type /setup and you will see the fren.tools bot pop up

  • There are two options:

    • Pick the channel you want to setup the bot in, usually the same channel you are running the /setup command in

    • Pick the role you want the bot to assign to verified key holders

  • Hit enter and you will see the bot post the the verification message in the channel

Users that click on the Verify Wallet button on the bot message will be privately replied in the channel with a link to connect and verify key ownership through their wallet.

Double Check Server Permissions!

In order to verify users and assign the role you want the bot to assign to users, you will need to make sure that the fren.tools bot has higher priority on the roles stack.

  • Go to your Server Settings

  • Click on Roles

  • Find the fren.tools role. You can see in this example that the fren.tools bot is below the role I want to assign users.

  • Simply click and then drag fren.tools above the role for verified users.

You are now ready to verify users!
